Thats a good fucking idea, i'd been trying to decide what course of action to take every time I look at the MSH costume page.

Well, there's not a ton of support (or interest) out there, but I am still here and I do still monitor this forum so if you want to post some questions or what have you, feel free.

Like the casting sub, you can now submit the alignment layout of costumes as they are displayed on the page.

examples to come, probably.

I thought I'd made a reply to this already for myself not to forget. Oh well.

Move submit - looks like its still attaching to old school move game attachments.

weight - sticky situation. The whole bio code is a shambles offline right now, and I'm kind of a fraid to upload it, especially for one tiny fix. Consider it being looked at.

classifications - this among other tag related issues is gonna get addressed.

Swaile - No idea, lemme look.

Costume Lineup - In a perfect world I wouldn't have uploaded the page until the sub page was good to go so you could align them. Long story short, there's no link between the character costume tables anymore and I can't run the code that just barely kept them from flowing offscreen so either, I make them a set width or they just wait for subbed realignment. I mean, there's something I can kinda do. let me fuck with it.

Consistency - i'd be lying if I said I put "consistency" in my list of priorities when building new pages, mostly because I often forget what everything else looks like while I'm doing. I'll make the changes, keep me honest.

new costumes nitpickin
http://www.fenixware.net/fab/fab_gameCostume.asp?id=41
all the assists/transforms are screwy vertically, which is at least better than it used to be i think where almost everything was screwed vertically and it was like the wild west of alignment.
but can you do somethin' about that? just make it so the bottoms of each costume line up and extra lines of costume name extend down rather than up?

also re: gradients
wouldn't it be more internally consistent if either:
A) the character's name used vertical and costume names used horizontal
B) only the character's name used horizontal
that seems to be how the rest of the site looks, anyway.

good shit tho, i mean mvc2 loads great now.

Both Tag and Theme "classifications" appearing in pulldown for tag/theme submit is kind of confusing on what is intended to go where. IE: "Casting" is for themes I think but it had a couple tags, I think "draconic" under casting tags should go under whatever classification is getting called "Mash Event" currently. Archetypes?

solution: either codefix, rename so its clear, or consolidate so existing classifications apply to both?

another thing
http://www.fenixware.net/fab/fab_voiceMain.asp?voice=8967
Brad Swaile is i guess assigned to ..Gundam.. or whoever, and he shows up on the list, but when you click on him it says "sorry, this voice actor does not exist" or something. whats goin on with this? it just seems to create a massive site hang as well.

Yeah, we're both using different projects of Maximoff as a base, but the thing is that's all we know how to do at the moment.

We would appreciate help since we're both willing to make complete or near-complete projects of our own that don't completely base every coding aspect of his games.

Hi, I'm currently messing around with this engine, mainly just messing around with maximoff's King of Fighters. But I just thought I'd let someone know there is some interest in this topic. I also have a friend who's making something with the engine and we plan later on making a VS style game like the SNK vs Capcom ones.

We are kinda loose on alot of advance stuff (collision models for one thing) so any help who be useful.

 10   Fight-A-Base / Need Japanese Translator  on: Nov 6th, 2009, 4:46pm

While fabbing Goiken Muyou it occurred to me that for better or worse I seem to care more about the minutiae of some of this stuff than the Japanese, as I could not for the life of me find any character info on the web.

Google translate is generally fine for our purposes but in some cases a bio or story or NAME only exists in image form and as such is immune to translation (i can only read katakana/hiragana).

SO if anyone out there can read kanji and would like to be a translation stooge, we'd love you for it. Post up or something.

(i realize i'm reaching)
